Dummyfi is an educational and research tool. We provide descriptive information about publicly traded stocks, ETFs, and macroeconomic conditions. We do not tell you what to buy, sell, or hold. We do not know your financial circumstances, goals, tax situation, or risk tolerance, and our outputs are not tailored to you.
Nothing on Dummyfi is:
- Investment advice
- Financial advice
- Tax advice
- Legal advice
- A solicitation to buy or sell any security
- A recommendation specific to your situation

What Dummyfi actually does
We do three things, and we want you to be clear on each:
- We compute scores from public data. Prices, fundamentals, and macroeconomic indicators are pulled from public sources and combined into deterministic signals. These signals describe a security; they do not prescribe an action.
- We summarize public information using AI. Our AI-generated business descriptions, research summaries, and chat responses are grounded in public SEC filings, news, and financial statements. AI can still make mistakes, omit context, or sound confident about uncertain things. Treat AI output as a starting point, not a conclusion.
- We provide a glossary and articles. Plain-English explanations of how investing concepts work, written for non-experts.
Accuracy and availability
We do our best to provide accurate, up-to-date information, but market data has gaps and delays, source APIs return wrong numbers occasionally, and AI summaries can contain errors. We do not warrant that the service is error-free, complete, or continuously available.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use Dummyfi.
- Sign-in is via Google. You are responsible for the security of your Google account.
- You agree not to use Dummyfi to violate any law, infringe anyone's rights, or interfere with the service for other users.
- You agree not to scrape, automate, or reverse-engineer the service, or attempt to bypass the rate limits and fair-use quotas built into the API.
Content and intellectual property
The Dummyfi name, logo, software, and original written content (articles, glossary entries, UI copy) are owned by Dummyfi and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may read, share, and link to public pages. You may not copy substantial portions of our original content without permission.
Data we display about specific companies (prices, fundamentals, filings, news) comes from third parties and remains theirs. Company names and tickers are trademarks of the respective companies and are used here for identification only.
A specific note on AI-generated content
Some features (About panel, Research CTAs, chat) use large language models from Anthropic. Even when grounded in real source data, AI can:
- Misremember details
- Combine facts from different periods
- Use confident language about uncertain conclusions
- Miss important context
We mark AI-generated sections clearly. Verify anything that matters to your decisions against primary sources (10-K filings, official press releases, your broker's statements).
Disclaimer of warranties
Dummyfi is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. You use the service at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dummyfi and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of (or inability to use) the service or any action you take based on its content.
If you live somewhere that does not allow these exclusions, the above limitations apply only to the extent permitted by your local law.
Termination
You may stop using Dummyfi at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing privacy@dummyfi.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that abuse the service in ways that affect other users.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute arises, we'll try to resolve it informally first — email is the fastest way.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. Continued use of Dummyfi after a change means you accept the updated terms.
